Elodie's Room

Before I even conceived my daughter I was buying things for her nursery. I painted her room 'Kiwi Juice' green which is my favourite colour. I'm definitely not one for pastel pink or blue in the nursery! I bought a cot canopy and matching quilt and curtains from Ikea (the mothership) and I also found their 'Hensvik' changetable which converts to a bookshelf once you have finished with nappies.
Her cot came from Ebay and I fell in love with it because it's so tiny and cute! The previous owner had imported it from the UK but because it is standard UK size and not Australian I can't buy fitted sheets for it! (oh well) I painted it white while I was heavily pregnant.
Her room looked like something out of a magazine before she was born. Everybody who visited would say how beautiful it was and I was very proud of it. Here's what it looked like then..
It's now being swamped by beautiful blankets, and gorgeous clothes and fun toys and all the other things that a 7 month old accumulates (not through any fault of her mothers, certainly not!) so it is my first project! Making it beautiful again, fit for a beautiful girl!

Inspiration..

So here I am.
Growing up as the daughter of a perfectionist has two possible outcomes. You either pick up those perfectionist ways (two of my siblings have taken this path) OR you get used to having everything done perfectly for you and realise you can't do this in your own life so you make a mess! This is me.
I'm a planner, I love to have a plan and to stick to it. I like everything to have an order but I just can't seem to keep up with it as far as the house organisation goes. I saw a great blog today titled super organised mum and got all inspired so I thought it might be a great idea to start a blog of my own and show you all (or just me) everything I achieve and in turn give myself a reason to get stuff done. Whether or not this plan will actually work remains to be seen... tomorrow it begins...
